My Favourite Makeup Product | YSL Touche Eclat
I feel like Touche Eclat is quite a misunderstood makeup product, but it's still something that everybody wants because you hear about celebrities using it a lot. I bought it a while back because there was some kind of sale on and I basically just wanted something YSL because I didn't have anything. I think I actually went in for a lipstick but the leopard print packaging caught my attention.
I'm the type of person who doesn't care what a product is meant to be for, I'll use it for anything. I'll use nail varnish to fill in my eyebrows if I want to (uh, just kidding). So Touche Eclat is intended as a highlight for various places to add brightness. Not in the same way that MAC Soft & Gentle will add a crazy sparkle to your cheekbones, but to subtly remove darkness from areas like under your eyes or that nasolabial crease (I think I made that word up because it says it or something similar in The Sims. But I mean the lines around your mouth... if you get me).
ANYWAY. I use it under my eyes but on top of concealer. Because, though it can be used under your eyes, it really ISN'T a concealer and isn't going to hide dark circles. But it does subtly brighten the area. Personally, I wouldn't buy it just for this because it's such a subtle difference I think it's a waste of money. What I do love it for, is my lips. Yep, judge me if you want, but that's the way it is. I put some lip balm on and follow it up with a little bit of Touche Eclat. Why? Well, nude lipsticks are something I struggle with a lot. In fact, lipsticks in general I feel look stupid on me, but nude lipsticks are the worst. I feel like Touche Eclat blocks out some of that colour and doesn't look thick and cake and weird like some lipsticks, and you can also sort of customise how nude you want it to be. I find it's very subtle and it doesn't dry my lips out and it's working for me right now, so why not?
Probably not the Touche Eclat review you were hoping for, but there it is! That's my opinions of it and what I'm using it for at the moment. Give it a couple of months and I'll probably worship it as the best brow bone highlight there is and I'll be using Rimmel Kate 107 on my lips again. Who knows!
Hopefully this review was somewhat enlightening to you. Let me know what you think of the product below and if you think it's weird that I use it on my lips. Also give me a shout if you know of any drugstore dupes.
